Author S. Robert is an amazing author and after having the privilege of interviewing her I can see why her books are amazing. The knowledge she has as a former police detective is well executed in her writing. I have enjoyed reading her work and I can't wait to read more.

Tell us a little about yourself? Perhaps something not many people know?

I’ve been an open book for a while now. My first several years of writing were cloaked in secrecy because I was police detective specializing in sex crimes and homicide. The last thing I needed was a defense attorney questioning me about the books I write while I’m sitting on the witness stand. Now I live a fairly boring writing life and leave all the excitement for my stories.

Million dollar question, are you working on another book?

Ha, I’m always working on another book or two or three. I have a novella due to my editor in 5 days and then I’m writing another dragon book for the Fire Chronicles Series. Crazy dragon readers fill my inbox demanding another dragon book so I’m listening.

Do you listen to music when writing or do you prefer silence?

I have a sex scene playlist of dirty songs. The more times the f-word is used the better and steamier my writing. Think Crazy Bitch by Buckcherry. It puts me in the mood for hot and dirty sex which is the way I like to write it. I do have some calming playlists but really I prefer silence when I’m deep in the zone.

What have you put most of your effort into regarding writing?

It’s the entire package. If I’m not writing, I’m marketing, formatting, editing, etc. I support my family and treat my writing like the career it is. I have an exercise desk that my laptop fits on so I can get to peddle away and keep working. It helps that I’m disciplined and have always been self-motivated. My husband takes care of me—meals, cleaning, cheering section and I like to say I’m the most spoiled author alive.

Do your characters seem to hijack the story or do you feel like you have the reigns of the story?

Total hijack, the twits. I sometimes fight with them but they always win and my writing is better for it.

Are your characters based off real people or did they all come entirely from your imagination?

My stories are imagination but something will trigger certain characters here and there. For instance in Sizzle, I worked with two very homophobic cops for years. I always swore I would use them in a book. Trent and Miles are two slimy characters who make a small appearance in Sizzle. And of course they just happen to be gay.

Could you tell us a bit about your most recent book and why it is a must-read?

BURN is special. I absolutely loved writing Dax’s story but I think it’s Sofia who makes the book work. I rewrote her three times to get her right. She’s not a character everyone will like but I guarantee she’ll make you think. That’s what I love most about her and she is the perfect woman for Dax. Burn is the third book in the Hotter Than Hell series but each one can be read as a standalone and offers spin-off characters. The books are Sons of Anarchy meets The Sopranos. Add in the Arizona Desert and these books are Hotter Than Hell.

Burn (Book 3 of the Hotter Than Hell Series)

Standalone, No cliffhanger

Release date: July 11, 2016

Synopsis:

You felt the HEAT and savored the SIZZLE. Now it’s time to let it BURN!

Dax Jonathan Montgomery’s life was destroyed after he lost his wife and unborn child in a horrific drunk driving accident and he murdered the man responsible. It cost him his heart and seven years behind bars. The horror didn’t stop there. With nowhere to go after his release, he joined the Desert Crows, a skinhead outlaw motorcycle club and does things no man should be proud of. He knows the only chance at redemption is to take over the club and turn his bike down another sweltering road.

Sofia Guadalupe Acosta was born the bi-product of a drugged out Hispanic mother and a skinhead father. Her father wanted her mother dead and his dirty little secret hidden. Her mother escaped with Sofia and changed her life to protect her child. Now Sofia’s all grown up and set on revenge.

The problem… another skinhead killed her no good rotten father so Sofia must set her sights on a different target. She doesn’t care if she burns in hell as long as Dax burns with her.

This book is intended for mature readers. Contains adult situations and violence.

Excerpt

Her insolence blasts me. If looks could kill, as they say. She has no idea what I’ve risked to keep her alive or that the time has come for her to pay up. Nothing in this fucked up world is free, and I’m tired of watching her sassy breasts and the sway of her tight ass without taking her up on the offer. I can’t allow her to leave, it’s too dangerous, and in order for her to stay with the club, she needs to be part of it.

Her skimpy shirt clings to her and does nothing to hide the bit of lace she’s wearing to push out her breasts. There’s sweat on her brow and her dark hair is wild with wisps sticking up all over the place. She must read something in my eyes because she steps back.“Not a good idea, princess,” I say as I reach above her head and close the bedroom door behind her. I pull her closer and she pushes against my chest, which does absolutely nothing. I’m bigger and stronger and so are my brothers. That’s another lesson she needs to learn. My right hand slides up her back until I grab a nice chuck of hair at her neckline. It’s time to set the record straight and teach her her place.“You have one chance and one chance only to choose who you belong to—my brothers or me. They’ll share you like a club whore until there’s nothing left. I’ll fuck you the same way, but I don’t share.” I roughly pull her head back. There’s fire in her brown eyes—fury and desire mixed. Her voice holds only fury when she says, “That’s my choice? I can be gang raped or fucked by you?”I have no idea why I’m always pushing her. I’ll admit the fire in her dark eyes turns me the fuck on. “I haven’t made up my mind if your pussy is worth the trouble or not. If you choose me, we’ll start with a blow job.”Her right palm slams upward between us. She tries to jam it into my chin. I jerk my head back just in time. I twist her around so her back is to my chest while keeping a tight hold on her hair. My left hand slides up until I’m holding one firm breast. I squeeze until she groans.“Like that, do you?”“Fuck you, Dagger.” She’s breathing hard. She wants me but thinks it will be on her terms. There’s no doubt I want her, and I press my cock against her ass so she knows how bad.“Am I your choice or my men? It’s time to decide, princess.”She’s breathing heavily and before she answers, she releases a low growly sound. “You… you fucking piece of shit. Go ahead and fuck me. You’ve wanted to since the first time you saw my Latina ass.” She stops fighting me physically and I’m practically holding up her limp body. She’s right, I have wanted her since I saw her step out of her car and point the gun at me. We’re both fucking insane.I whisper against her throat, “Knees.” She always smells fucking incredible. “You’ll suck me off and make it fucking good or I’ll drag you out naked and let my men enjoy you.” I have no idea what’s come over me.Her breath hitches. She fucking likes it. I loosen my grip on her hair and lower my hand from her breast. She turns in my arms until our eyes meet. The fire in her eyes is hotter than ever.Very slowly she sinks to her knees. Why do I want to fuck this woman until she screams my name and want to break her at the same time? The sight of her on her knees turns my already hard dick to stone.
